Okay, I think I mentioned that I would be trying the one-day detox diet. I had high hopes. I was supposed to drop weight and feel energized.
Hmmm.
I did lose weight on the 7-day prequel portion of the diet -- 2.5 pounds in fact. On the one-day detox, though, I only lost 1/2 pound. Not quite the same as what the book says (3 to 8 pounds). Oh well, I am greatful for any and all weight loss!
Now as to the energy part. Can you say "exhausted"? I did not feel energized in the least. In fact, I was so tired the day after the detox diet that I had to take a nap a few hours after I got up!
So, will I do this again? The one-day detox, I doubt it. The 7-day prequel, on the other hand, I probably will do again. I like seeing the numbers on the scale get smaller, and it was pretty easy to follow. Basically lots of fresh or lightly steamed veggies, fresh fruit, lean beef, chicken breasts and those wonderfully thick and creamy smoothies! What's not to like?
